What Is Character? Character is what a man is in the dark. Character is who you are when no one is looking. Character is measured by what you would do if you were never found out. Reputation is what men think you are. Character is what God knows you to be. Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it...the tree is the real thing. The best index to a person’s character is how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back. There is never a reason to compromise God’s standards in order to maintain God’s blessings.
